About this Event

If your organization uses the telephone to communicate with your clients, then you need to understand Arkansas Relay Services.  Arkansas Relay is a service at no cost that enables people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind or those with a Speech Disability to place and receive phone calls. It also allows people who are hearing to initiate telephone calls to someone who is Deaf, Hard of Hearing or DeafBlind.

Grant funded agencies have an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) obligation to be accessible to people with disabilities, and that includes communicating via telephone. As people age, they may develop disabilities that impact their ability to hear or speak on the phone. Having knowledge of the Arkansas Relay Service may allow you to share this important information about Relay Services with older individuals you serve.

Please join this training to learn how to use the Arkansas Relay Service, and develop confidence in your ability to answer, and place calls to people with hearing loss and/or speech disabilities.
