Understanding Hearing Loss and Assistive Listening Technology

Date: Thursday, March 21st.

Time: 10:00 am to 11:30 am Central Time

Location: Zoom

Registration: Online Registration Form

Presenter: Paula Pottenger, M.Ed.

Description: Hearing loss is a condition that is prevalent in the United States. The Center for Disease Control 2019 data indicates that 13% of adults aged 18 and over had some difficulty hearing even when using a hearing aid. As adults age, hearing loss becomes even more prevalent. Nearly 25 percent of those aged 65 to 74 and 50 percent of those who are 75 and older have significant hearing loss. Changes in our hearing impacts communication and understanding. It’s important for anyone who provides direct services to understand the impact of hearing loss. This presentation will give an overview of hearing loss and provide information about assistive listening devices. This is a repeat of a popular webinar.
